Keeping Forests is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to keep working forests in the U.S. South viable by building market demand for Southern forest products and connecting capital to forest conservation. Operating since 2016 across 13 states with more than 100 partners, it organizes its work around demand signals, capital flows, and system visibility. It frames the problem in terms of the projected loss of 23 million acres of Southern forestland by 2060.
