Kaxaan Nautical Foundation works to inspire nautical conservancy and sustainability through exploration, discovery, and community engagement. It runs invitation-only working expeditions in which divers assist archaeologists with underwater survey and documentation at sites including volcanic lakes, coral reefs, and coastal tidal pools, and it collaborated with the U.S. government and the Mexican Navy to place a memorial at the wreck of the submarine USS H-1 Seawolf off Baja California. Its community programs aim to help coastal communities sustain marine preservation practices and diversify local economies toward sustainable tourism.
