Kansas City Area Grotto

Kansas City Area Grotto is the Kansas City chapter of the National Speleological Society, a volunteer 501(c)(3) founded in 1969 and dedicated to the discovery, exploration, and conservation of caves and karst in the midwestern United States. Members run project caving work that includes surveying caves, monitoring them on behalf of government agencies, conducting scientific research, and carrying out cave clean-up and restoration, most of it in Missouri. The grotto works alongside the Missouri Speleological Survey, the Missouri Cave and Karst Conservancy, the Cave Research Foundation, and the Carroll Cave Conservancy.
