Kalamazoo River Watershed Public Advisory Council

The Kalamazoo River Watershed Council is the assumed name of the organization incorporated in 1998 as the Kalamazoo River Watershed Public Advisory Council, working for the long term protection, restoration, enjoyment and stewardship of the Kalamazoo River and its tributaries in southwest Michigan. It began in 1993 as the citizen advisory body helping the state's Remedial Action Plan team develop a plan for the Kalamazoo River Area of Concern, and still serves as the Public Advisory Council on contaminated sediment issues in the river system. Its work spans watershed education, recreation and access, and habitat and resource protection projects with local partners.
