Jonestown Night Sky Advocacy

Jonestown Night Sky Advocacy works to preserve the natural night sky over the Texas Hill Country and eliminate light pollution through responsible outdoor lighting. It formed out of the City of Jonestown's Dark Sky Committee and supports the city's International Dark Sky Community designation, advocating to city government on controlling light pollution to protect wildlife, ecosystems, human health, and energy use. Its programs include outdoor lighting education, community outreach, night sky events, and a Be A Star Award recognizing residents and businesses that shield their lighting.
