The Johns Island Conservancy is dedicated to preserving and safeguarding the natural habitat, wildlife, historical and agricultural resources of Johns Island, South Carolina, one of the largest sea islands on the East Coast. It pursues that mission through research, education, community networking and conservation action programs, including osprey nest monitoring, dolphin awareness, highway cleanup and documentation of the island's history. Its land use work focuses on the argument that development and conservation on the island need not be in opposition.
