Jefferson Chalmers Water Project

The Jefferson-Chalmers Water Project is a resident-led effort addressing flooding and water resource management in Detroit's Jefferson-Chalmers neighborhood, a low-lying waterfront community on the Detroit River. Its site operates as a public document hub, publishing and commenting on the proceedings that shape local flood infrastructure, including the Great Lakes Water Authority pump station report, a draft NPDES permit, the CDBG-DR draft action plan, and a US Army Corps flood risk reduction study. It also organizes residents directly, hosting presentations to the Detroit City Planning Commission and City Council, a petition drive, story maps of the neighborhood, and community events.
