James River Association

The James River Association works to protect the James River and connect people to it, aiming for a fully healthy river valued by all communities in the watershed. It runs watershed restoration and water quality monitoring, clean water advocacy, riparian buffer planting, stormwater and living shoreline projects, and environmental education, and operates the James Riverkeeper program that patrols the river to track pollution. The organization is headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, and works throughout the James River watershed including Petersburg, Amherst County and Lynchburg.
