Iowa Valley Resource Conservation & Development

Iowa Valley RC&D, founded in 1998 and based in Amana, works to build a food system supporting farms, businesses, the natural environment, and both urban and rural communities. Its Farmer Development Initiative provides education and technical support to roughly 75 beginning and experienced farmers a year through on-farm demonstrations, apprenticeships, fellowships, and land and equipment access. Its Value Chain Development Initiative connects producers to markets so farmers get fair prices and consumers get better access to locally grown food.
