International Wildlife Refuge Alliance

The International Wildlife Refuge Alliance is the Friends organization for the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge, the only international wildlife refuge in North America, and works to help the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service deliver the refuge's mission. Established in 2006 and based in Trenton, Michigan, it supports the refuge through habitat restoration, education and community outreach, volunteer coordination, special events, and fundraising. Its programs include funding a Hawk Watch primary counter for raptor monitoring, a Blue Goose Bus Fund that brings school groups to the refuge, and an endowment for the refuge's habitats and facilities.
