Indiana Prescribed Fire Council Inc

The Indiana Prescribed Fire Council is a group of prescribed fire practitioners whose mission is to promote the safe use of prescribed fire in the management of Indiana's diverse ecological systems. Based in West Lafayette, it provides training toward Certified Prescribed Burn Manager certification, runs workshops, maintains a directory of burn contractors, and supports local Prescribed Burn Associations. It also logs prescribed fires in the state and publishes information on how controlled burning supports habitat restoration, forest health and invasive species control.
