Huron River Watershed Council

The Huron River Watershed Council is a nonprofit coalition of residents, businesses, and local governments working to protect and restore the Huron River in southeast Michigan. Founded in 1965, it monitors the river, its tributaries, lakes, and groundwater, and runs programs in pollution prevention, wetland and floodplain protection, public education, and natural resource and land use planning. Its work covers a watershed of more than 900 square miles spanning seven counties, and it is based in Ann Arbor.
