Highlands County Audubon Society

Highlands County Audubon Society is a chapter of the National Audubon Society based in Lake Placid, Florida, working to promote an understanding of wildlife and the environment that supports it, protect species, and encourage sustainable use of natural resources. It runs field trips, birding events, and educational activities across Highlands County, and takes part in habitat restoration such as longleaf pine planting at Platt Branch to support Red-cockaded Woodpeckers. The site carries its activity calendar, member photography, and volunteer and advocacy opportunities.
