High Impact Environmental Inc

High Impact Environmental is a 501(c)(3) based in Chestertown, Maryland that develops, promotes, and teaches cost-feasible stormwater conservation and management practices in Queen Anne's and surrounding counties. Its central technique is a 'Cascading System' of floodway stormwater containment basins that capture and filter farm and floodway runoff before sediment, nutrients, and other pollutants reach the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. The first system was built on the 400 acre Hambleton Creek Farms in the upper Hambleton Creek subwatershed of the Chester River, and the Chester River watershed remains the organization's initial focus.
