Hickman Creek Conservancy is a citizen-led 501(c)(3), incorporated in 2019, working to improve water quality in the Hickman Creek watersheds of central Kentucky, with its current focus on West Hickman Creek in Fayette County. It grew out of the West Hickman Watershed Council convened with support from Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government. Its work includes creek sampling for biological assessment, tree walks and riparian education, streambed cleanups, neighborhood tree plantings, and helping local government and engineering firms develop a watershed improvement plan.
