HerpMapper is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that gathers and shares information about reptile and amphibian observations worldwide. Contributors record their herp sightings through the website or mobile app, and those records are made available to HerpMapper Partners, mainly state and regional agency biologists, university researchers, and conservation organizations, for research and preservation work. Exact locality data stays restricted to the contributor and Partners, while the general public sees only basic record details and photos.
