Hernando Audubon Society

Hernando Audubon Society works to promote an awareness and appreciation of nature, to preserve and protect natural ecosystems, and to encourage responsible environmental stewardship. It serves Hernando and south Sumter counties in Florida, leading birding field trips and events and publishing site checklists and birding resources for the area. The chapter also monitors wildlife, including red-cockaded woodpecker populations on the Croom Tract, and runs an internship program.
