Gulf And Caribbean Fisheries Institute Inc

Founded in 1947, the Gulf and Caribbean Fisheries Institute is a regional forum for exchanging information on marine and estuarine science among scientists, resource managers, policymakers, educators, fishers, and students across the Gulf and the Caribbean. It advances sustainable use, management, conservation, and restoration of marine and estuarine fisheries through an annual conference, webinars, student awards, and capacity building programs. Its work spans healthy ecosystem management, sustainable fishing, marine education, and emerging ocean issues such as lionfish, sargassum, and coral disease.
