Groton Open Space Association, Inc.

The Groton Open Space Association, founded in 1967, acquires, improves and maintains open space in southeastern Connecticut to protect forests, streams and wildlife. It stewards nine properties, including the Avery Farm Nature Preserve and Sheep Farm, all free and open to the public from sunrise to sunset for passive recreation and environmental education. Its current work includes habitat restoration such as controlling invasive Japanese knotweed, alongside advocacy and community outreach.
