Green Mountain Conservation Group

Founded in 1997 and based in Effingham, New Hampshire, the Green Mountain Conservation Group works to protect the lakes, rivers, and groundwater of the greater Ossipee Watershed along with its aquifer, land, and associated natural resources. Its research program covers volunteer water quality monitoring, eDNA sampling, microplastics, and groundwater assessment, and it advocates on drinking water protection and PFAS contamination. GMCG also runs school and community education programs such as Trout in the Classroom, and holds conservation land and easements in the watershed.
