Green Mountain Conservancy

Green Mountain Conservancy protects wild lands in southern Vermont, working chiefly in the Windham County towns of Dummerston, Newfane, Brookline, and Marlboro from an office in West Dummerston. It acquires and manages nature preserves, protecting forests and waterways and maintaining public hiking trails on them. Its holdings include the 954-acre Deer Run Nature Preserve with eight miles of trails, the 115-acre Canoe Brook Nature Preserve with its ancient white oaks, and the more recently protected Old Oaks Headwaters and Hunter Brook preserves.
