Green Horizon Land Trust is a central Florida nonprofit land trust, incorporated in 1991, whose stated purpose is to preserve and promote the region's natural areas and open spaces for the benefit of all. It acquires land and places it under conservation easement, and says it has helped protect more than 6,600 acres, with a particular focus on the Lake Wales Ridge. Its preserves, including the Barbara B. Pedersen Preserve, the Michael V. Lewis Arboretum and the Scrub Plum Preserve, offer public hiking trails and environmental education signage.
