Greater Cleveland Aquarium Education Fund

Operating as the Splash Fund, this independent 501(c)(3) is the nonprofit partner of the Greater Cleveland Aquarium, founded in 2013 to "promote and encourage passion about aquatic life and participation in the conservation of fresh and salt water habitats through sustainable human practices." It funds life-science field experiences for schools with demonstrated need, including the NEMO program for Cleveland Metropolitan School District fourth graders, and has provided more than $45,000 for over 10,000 students since 2012. Its conservation work includes community beach cleanups, spotted turtle protection, and a "Skip the Straw" plastic reduction campaign, based at the FirstEnergy Powerhouse in Cleveland's Nautica Waterfront District.
