Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative

The Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative supports place-based education across Michigan, connecting K-12 classrooms with their local environment so students carry out real stewardship projects in their own communities. It runs a network of regional hub organizations, offers teacher fellowships, institutes, and professional development, and hosts a national place-based education conference. The organization is based in Lowell, Michigan, and reports work with over 1,500 teachers in 263 schools reaching more than 115,000 students.
