Great Basin Land and Water is a Nevada conservation nonprofit, incorporated in 1996, whose stated purpose is to benefit the public by preserving and enhancing the ecological, natural, scenic, historical, and recreational values of important land and water resources. It acquires water rights to support instream flows, water quality, and aquatic and riparian habitat, and acquires land protecting native species, biotic communities, historic resources, and recreation. Its work covers the Great Basin areas of Nevada, Utah, and California, in cooperation with government agencies, Native American tribes, and other nonprofits.
