Gratiot Lake Conservancy

Gratiot Lake Conservancy, founded in 1998 in Keweenaw County in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, works to preserve Gratiot Lake and the land within its watershed and to inspire informed land stewardship through education and research on the lake's ecology and history. It holds preserve land at Gratiot Lake plus conservation easements covering thousands of acres, including the Little Gratiot River Wilderness and the Bete Grise Preserve, open for hiking, fishing, berry picking, and nature study. It also runs lake monitoring and research and offers summer youth courses and workshops on botany, aquatic plants, and dragonflies.
