Government Canyon Natural History Association

Government Canyon Natural History Association, which operates as Friends of Government Canyon, is the 501(c)(3) support group for Government Canyon State Natural Area outside San Antonio, Texas. Its volunteers conserve and preserve the natural area and educate the public, taking on trail maintenance and restoration work such as the Joe Johnston Route and Blackland Prairie habitat restoration. It also develops interpretive programs, guided hikes and special events, and maintains visitor facilities including a nature playscape and the Nathan and Anna Kallison Amphitheater.
