Georgia River Network, which also goes by Georgia Rivers, is a statewide nonprofit founded in 1998 and based in Athens that works to protect and connect people with Georgia's rivers. It combines science and advocacy with paddling programs, running the Georgia Water Trail Network across nearly 40 waterways and roughly 2,350 paddling miles, and organizing the annual Paddle Georgia trip. The group also leads and convenes conservation coalitions including the Georgia Water Coalition and the Okefenokee Protection Alliance.
