George Candreva Enviromnemtal Center Inc

The Candreva Environmental Foundation, legally George Candreva Environmental Center, Inc., is a New York nonprofit that provides seed money for local environmental education initiatives and projects engaging young people in environmental service. It awards mini-grants of up to $500 to professional staff and youth leaders working with students or teachers in the Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, and Ulster county region, covering materials, printing, travel, and other project costs. It was created in 1974 in memory of Dr. George Candreva, a Yorktown educator, journalist, and environmentalist, and has funded school gardens, water monitoring, recycling programs, and trail projects across the Hudson Valley.
