Gallatin Water Trust

Gallatin Water Trust is a 501(c)(3) launched as a partnership between the Four Corners Foundation and Trout Unlimited. It works to create an economically efficient and hydrologically sound exchange of water rights between willing parties, helping stakeholders donate, lease, or transfer existing rights in a basin where no new surface water rights can be issued. Its focus is the Gallatin watershed within Montana's Upper Missouri Basin, balancing ecological resources, agricultural heritage, and community growth against a limited water supply.
