Friends Of Wakefields Nemt Forest Inc

Friends of Wakefield's NEMT Forest was organized to promote, develop and support the preservation, scientific study and public education of the natural heritage found in the bedrock outcrop forest and forested wetlands on the Northeast Metro Tech campus in Wakefield, Massachusetts. The roughly 28 acre hilltop holds volcanic rock outcrops, forested wetlands, springs, seeps, intermittent streams and vernal pools that support breeding spotted salamanders, wood frogs, spring peepers and American toads. The group runs guided nature walks and documents the site's biodiversity through platforms like iNaturalist and eBird.
