Friends Of The Upper Mississippi Fishery Services

Friends of the Upper Mississippi works to protect, enhance, and restore Upper Mississippi River resources by serving as volunteers and partners with conservation organizations, providing public education, advocating for supportive government policies, and raising awareness of threats to the river's health. Much of its work supports the Genoa National Fish Hatchery and related U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service operations in western Wisconsin, including native species restoration, population monitoring, and grants for conservation activities. It also runs youth and community outdoor programs such as Kids Fishing Day and Youth Outdoor Fest.
