Friends Of The Summer Haven River Inc

Friends of the Summer Haven River works to restore and maintain the Summer Haven River in northeastern St. Johns County, Florida, near St. Augustine. The group supplied more than 18,000 sea oats that over 100 volunteers planted to stabilize the ocean dune system rebuilt with sand excavated from the river, protecting Highway A1A, the river, nearby homes, and sea turtle nesting habitat. It is also following an ongoing St. Johns County study aimed at a long-term, sustainable way to maintain the river's flow.
