Friends of the Sangamon Valley is a nonprofit land trust dedicated to acquiring, protecting, and restoring natural areas in the Sangamon River Watershed in central Illinois. It owns and stewards preserves including Gudmundson Wildlife Sanctuary, which serves as its headquarters, along with Knuppel Wildlife Sanctuary, Boyle Woods, Wolf Preserve, Carver Yokum Homestead Park, and South Fork Nature Reserve. Volunteer workdays run through the year and cover trail establishment and maintenance, invasive species removal, prescribed burns, and prairie and pollinator plot management.
