Friends Of The Rivers Of Virginia Inc

Friends of the Rivers of Virginia (FORVA) is a Roanoke-based conservation group dedicated to the conservation, preservation, and enhancement of Virginia's river resources, working through research, education, communication, and advocacy. It takes on pollution, low water flows, habitat destruction, and competing demands on rivers from municipalities, industry, and recreational users. Recent work listed on its site includes legislative advocacy such as the No Tires in the River bill and river access projects at Balcony Falls and the Big Otter River.
