Friends Of The Niobrara Inc

Friends of the Niobrara, Inc. is a grassroots citizens group working to protect the Niobrara River and its watershed, including the Niobrara National Scenic River corridor in northern Nebraska. It focuses on education and advocacy for the river's natural, cultural, historical, scenic, and recreational resources, running an annual spring litter cleanup along Sparks Road, researching legislative proposals and testifying at hearings, and staffing outreach booths at events around the state. As the National Park Service's nonprofit partner it administers National Park Foundation grant funds for projects such as Junior Ranger Angler fishing programs, Leave No Trace paddling safety, and oral history work.
