Friends Of The Minnesota Valley

Friends of the Minnesota Valley is a Bloomington, Minnesota advocacy nonprofit founded in 1981 to push for sound, science-based decisions that promote healthy and sustainable uses of the Minnesota River watershed's rivers, streams, and other natural resources. Its work spans agricultural drainage policy, lobbying for the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program, land acquisition and protection, and legal action, including an airport runway lawsuit that yielded more than $25 million for conservation. Since 2017 it has also run River Watch, which engages high school students in water quality monitoring.
