Friends Of The Katy Trail Inc

Friends of the Katy Trail is the nonprofit that operates and maintains the Katy Trail, an urban greenbelt park built on an abandoned railroad line running about 3.5 miles through Dallas. Founded in 1997 as a public-private partnership with the City of Dallas, the organization raises roughly $1.5 million a year from individual and corporate donations to fund landscaping, lighting, water stations, security patrols, and signage along the trail. It also advocates for the Katy Trail as a resource for recreation, wellness, and alternative transportation, and hosts community events including the annual Katy 5K.
