Friends Of The Gainesville Parks Inc

Now operating as the Gainesville Parks and Recreation Foundation, this nonprofit works to champion the necessity of the city parks and connect people to local natural resources in Gainesville, Georgia. It was formed as Friends of Gainesville Parks and Greenways in response to restoration needs at Ivey Terrace Park and works in public-private partnership with the City of Gainesville Parks and Recreation Department. Its initiatives include restoring the Rock Creek Greenway Corridor, acquiring land for parks and greenways, the Park 2 Park connectivity campaign, and the annual Butterfly Release.
