Friends Of The Edmondson Homesite Park & Gardens

Friends of the Edmondson Homesite Park and Gardens is a Nashville 501(c)(3) working to turn the former homesite of sculptor William Edmondson into a living landmark, while supporting artists and bringing art to the surrounding community. Edmondson, who carved limestone figures at his Edgehill workshop, was the first African American artist to receive a solo exhibition at New York's Museum of Modern Art in 1937. The group's main public program is the annual William Edmondson Arts and Culture Festival, a free October event with art vendors, live performances, food, and family activities.
