Friends Of The Earth

Friends of the Earth is a national environmental advocacy organization founded in 1969 by David Brower and headquartered in Washington, DC. It says its mission is to fight for a more healthy and just world by tackling the root causes of climate change, environmental degradation, and social injustice, pushing for systemic policy change rather than half measures. Its campaigns span climate and energy justice, forests, oceans, food and agriculture, and economic systems reform, and it is part of the Friends of the Earth International federation active in more than 70 countries.
