Friends Of The Cheat Inc

Friends of the Cheat works to restore, preserve, and promote the outstanding natural qualities of the Cheat River watershed in West Virginia. Founded in 1994, it concentrates on remediating acid mine drainage in the lower watershed alongside riparian reforestation, aquatic organism passage projects, and watershed monitoring. It also builds river access and trails and runs education, snorkeling, and volunteer programs from its base in Kingwood.
