Friends Of The Atchafalaya

Friends of the Atchafalaya is a private 501(c)(3) membership group formed to promote conservation and awareness of the Atchafalaya Basin through communication and volunteer mobilization. It runs a news blog and member updates on activities in the Basin, funded through membership levels ranging from Crawfish to Eagle. The group states it is independent of the Atchafalaya Basin Program, the Atchafalaya Heritage Area, and the Louisiana state departments of Natural Resources and Culture, Recreation and Tourism.
