Friends Of Plum Island Inc

Friends of Plum Island works to protect, restore, steward, and promote the natural, ecological, historic, cultural, and scenic resources of Plum Island, New York, connecting regional communities with the agencies responsible for managing and safeguarding the island. Its advocacy covers the island's flora and fauna, ecological communities, geology and soils, Native American cultural heritage and archaeological sites, the Plum Island Lighthouse, Fort Terry, and the associated Orient Point marina. The group supports a coalition seeking permanent preservation of the island, including passage of the Plum Island National Monument Act.
