Friends of Palm Beach is a 501(c)(3) founded in 2013 by Diane Buhler that removes incoming plastics, trash, and debris from the 7.5 miles of shoreline on the island of Palm Beach, Florida. It runs monthly community volunteer cleanups alongside a year-round weekday crew, and reports removing more than 190 tons of trash since 2013, roughly 85 to 90 percent of it plastic. The weekday crew is staffed through partnerships with The Lord's Place and Vita Nova, which support homeless individuals and young adults leaving foster care.
