Friends Of Nachusa Grasslands

Friends of Nachusa Grasslands is a nonprofit created in 2008 by volunteers at Nachusa Grasslands, a 4,000-plus-acre restored and remnant prairie preserve at Franklin Grove, Illinois. Working in partnership with The Nature Conservancy, it funds endowments that defray natural areas management, staff and operating costs, and it coordinates volunteer stewardship including seed collection, invasive species control, wetland repair and controlled burns. The group also supports scientific research at the preserve and public education and access, on land home to a bison herd, 245 bird species and more than 700 native plant species.
