Friends Of Minnesota Scientific And Natural Areas

Friends of Minnesota Scientific and Natural Areas is a 501(c)(3) organization formed to advocate for the establishment, use, management, and perpetuation of Minnesota's Scientific and Natural Areas in an undisturbed natural state. It was founded in 2012 by citizens concerned that mission drift at the state DNR was opening protected SNAs to uses inconsistent with their conservation purpose. The group runs field trips and education to introduce the public to SNAs, and works with the DNR, legislators, and other conservation groups on funding and management of the statewide SNA system.
