Friends of Herring River is a Wellfleet, Massachusetts nonprofit founded in 2009 whose mission is to inspire and accelerate restoration of estuaries and ecosystems for the benefit of nature and all people. It leads the Herring River Restoration Project in partnership with the Town of Wellfleet and the National Park Service's Cape Cod National Seashore, working to return tidal flow to roughly 1,000 acres of degraded salt marsh and coastal habitat across Wellfleet and Truro. Its programs cover ecological monitoring, project management, and community outreach.
