Friends of Hamilton Reservoir Association (FHRA) is a 501(c)(3) public charity whose funds are used exclusively for the benefit of Hamilton Reservoir, including the lake's maintenance, preservation, public safety, and conservation of its environmental integrity. The 412-acre reservoir straddles Holland, Massachusetts and Union, Connecticut, and was formed in the 1860s when the Hamilton Woolen Company dammed the Quinebaug River. The group runs membership, volunteer, and sponsorship programs, hosts community events, publishes newsletters, and maintains boating regulations and resources for use of the lake.
