Friends of Forge Pond formed in July 2018 around Forge Pond in Granby, Massachusetts, a 58 acre body of water established in 1771. Its stated mission is to sustain, protect and improve the pond, including the Forge Pond Dam, feeding streams, springs, neighboring wetlands, islands and surrounding border lands, along with the resident and transient life forms that depend on it. The all volunteer group runs member and donation drives, children's education, community events such as a water chestnut pull and Poetry On the Pond, and conservation work with the Partyka Conservation Land Trust.
